Many of my recent paintings are based on my quilting background. My favorite type of quilts are made from old clothes and scraps of fabric. This painting is actually painted over another painting -- going along with the idea of repurposing. I love how each star has its own character.

I love pattern and color, and it's really all I want to use to create -- gone are my days of landscapes and portraits. But people often look at my art and comment, "this would make a really good bedspread / greeting card / totebag." And those comments discouraged me. I didn't have a clue how to make those things and just imagined it would be really hard and take me away from what I love: creating. So finding Fine Art America and Pixels is exciting because secretly I agreed with those comments. A lot of my art would make really good greeting cards, shower curtains, or totebags. I hope that you'll see the same potential. (It's also good as art.) Thanks!
