I painted this from a scene at my daughter's seventh birthday party. It was supposed to be a swimming party, but it rained the first hour or so. The pink tubes were the party favor. Finally, the rain stopped and everyone was ready to go out into the water, but you can see there was a little trepidation.
I love pattern and color, and it's really all I want to use to create -- gone are my days of landscapes and portraits. But people often look at my art and comment, "this would make a really good bedspread / greeting card / totebag." And those comments discouraged me. I didn't have a clue how to make those things and just imagined it would be really hard and take me away from what I love: creating. So finding Fine Art America and Pixels is exciting because secretly I agreed with those comments. A lot of my art would make really good greeting cards, shower curtains, or totebags. I hope that you'll see the same potential. (It's also good as art.) Thanks!
